XBox Big Day Out Slope Style Finals cancelled due to snow storms in Val d' Isere

Yes you did read that correctly! The snow has not been the best in Europe this year compared to previous seasons. The XBox Big Day Out Slope Style Finals were cancelled due to a risk of avalanche from the amount of snow.

The run-up to the finals and the qualification rounds were touch and go. with high winds and heavy snowfalls the organisers had their fingers crossed for a good window of weather. On the second day of qualifications the riders got themselves to the top of the course. The British riders held their own against the Europeans.

with qualifications out of the way and the night finals building up with tunes from the Kruden and Dorfmeister and Scratch Perverts disaster struck! The French pisters had to close the top half of the course, leaving the event to be played out on only the Monster hip. With the riders deciding to split the 15,000 prize money the Hip Session turned into a Jam format with Emeric Front [France] taking first place.
